Day by day

Suggested itinerary

See each day's route, highlights, background and stay together in one place.

Half day

Kowloon Station exits E4 or E5 for the above-ground walk, or C1 or D1 via Artist Square Bridge → choose an M+ paid exhibition or public areas → waterfront if the weather is good → return to Kowloon Station

How to fit it in

From Kowloon Station exits E4 or E5, walk above ground along Nga Cheung Road to Museum Drive for 10–15 minutes, or from C1 or D1, follow the signs through the second floor of Elements to Artist Square Bridge. Check the day’s exhibitions and ticket coverage at the entrance. After your visit, head to the waterfront only if the weather is good.

Reality check

Transport

From Kowloon Station, exits E4 and E5 lead to an above-ground walk via Nga Cheung Road; exits C1 and D1 lead via Artist Square Bridge on the second floor of Elements. Don’t assume that the route from either exit to the M+ entrance is entirely indoors.

Time

Allow 2–3 hours for paid exhibitions, or 60–90 minutes for the free spaces and rooftop only.

Cost

The official general admission ticket was HKD 190 in 2026-07. Decide first whether you want to visit only the free spaces or see a paid exhibition.

Safety

Outdoor spaces and operations may change during heavy rain or a typhoon warning. Follow on-site instructions.

If plans change

M+ and the West Kowloon Cultural District: if tickets are unavailable

If you don’t have a paid ticket, visit M+ public spaces instead, and add a waterfront walk if the weather is good. Check separately for a ticket to the Hong Kong Palace Museum.

Small tip

Exhibitions are divided into paid and free areas, so check opening days and what your ticket covers before you visit.

Final check before departure

  • It’s easy to miss the exit to the Cultural District if you follow signs inside Elements mall from Kowloon Station. Check for Artist Square Bridge or shuttle service, and allow 15–20 minutes to walk.
  • Save a screenshot showing the timed-entry ticket time and which exhibitions it covers. If you’re visiting only to see the building, check whether the ground-floor public spaces and Roof Garden are open before buying a paid ticket.
  • If you head outdoors around sunset, look from the waterfront in front of M+ toward the Hong Kong Island skyline. For your return, choose Kowloon or Austin Station, whichever is closer to your next stop. Skip the waterfront in heavy rain.

M+ is generally closed on Mondays, and timed-entry tickets have been in effect since 2026-07. Check your visit date and ticket time.
