At a glance

  • Globus Zličín: A hypermarket at Sárská 5/133, Praha 5. From Zličín, the terminus of Metro Line B, take bus 130 or 246 to the Sárská shopping center stop. Bus 100 connects Zličín to the airport, but allow extra travel time if you have lots of shopping bags.
  • Globus Čakovice: A hypermarket at Kostelecká 823, Praha 9. It’s a good fit if you have a rental car or plans in northeast Prague, and has a large free parking lot. If you’re heading downtown or to the airport afterward, it may involve a longer route than Zličín.
  • Globus Štěrboholy: An option in eastern Prague. Consider it if you’re staying in the east, traveling by road, or using a rental car. If you’re sightseeing downtown and then heading to the airport, it’s simpler to check Zličín first.
  • Tesco Extra Eden is southeast of downtown and could be an alternative if it’s near your accommodation. For last-minute bulk shopping, though, the key factors are whether the store still operates there, its current hours, and how easily you can manage your luggage there.

Food and restaurants

  • Snacks, wafers, chocolate, tea, and spices are easy to pack in your carry-on.
  • Mustard, jam, honey, and wine are liquids or glass bottles. Check airport security and checked baggage rules first.
  • Rules for bringing products containing meat, dairy, or honey into South Korea can vary. Keep the packaging and check the latest quarantine guidance before departure.

How to fit it in

For a big grocery stop before heading to the airport, start with Globus Zličín. From Zličín station on Metro Line B, you can take bus 100 to the airport, making it convenient to pick up shelf-stable gifts such as snacks, tea, and spices before heading to the airport. If you’re buying lots of wine or other glass bottles, a taxi or rental car is more convenient than the bus.

Reality check

Transport

Prague Airport’s official information lists bus 100 between Zličín and Terminals 1 and 2, with a journey time of about 18 minutes to the airport. Before you leave, check the map for actual travel time from the Globus Zličín hypermarket to the station and bus stop, and allow extra time for your luggage.

Time

First, set your target airport arrival time based on your airline’s guidance. Prague Airport recommends arriving at least 2 hours before departure if you’re checking luggage. Before that, allow 60–90 minutes for shopping, 20 minutes to organize your bags, time for the round trip and wait between the store and Zličín station, and the bus ride on route 100. Add those times up and work backward to find when to leave your accommodation. If you can’t allow enough time, skip the shopping and go to the airport.

Cost

Prices, sales, and stock vary by store. On your last day, it’s easier to manage your luggage and time if you pick up shelf-stable, lightweight gifts at one store instead of comparing several. You don’t need a reservation to enter a hypermarket, but plan your airport travel time around any airport transfer you’ve booked and your airline’s baggage check-in deadline.

Safety

Wrap glass bottles in clothes or padding and pack them in checked luggage. Check your airline’s and Prague Airport’s guidance for rules on liquids in carry-on luggage. Follow the latest rules from the Korea Customs Service and the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency for food brought into South Korea. The more luggage you have, the greater the risk of being late for airport security or the baggage check-in deadline, so leave time to organize your bags right after paying.

If plans change

If your flight is soon

If you can’t fit shopping and travel time into your planned airport arrival window, skip the store and go straight to the airport. Check what you can buy after you’ve checked in at the airport.

If Zličín doesn’t fit your route

Compare Čakovice, Štěrboholy, or Tesco Extra Eden on a map based on your accommodation or rental car drop-off location. On your last day, the store with the shortest travel time may be the most practical.

Small tip

On your last day, plan for liquids, glass bottles, and weight first. If you have only carry-on luggage, choose snacks, tea, and spices. If you have checked luggage, pack mustard, jam, and wine separately.

Final check before departure

  • Choose shelf-stable, non-liquid gifts first.
  • Leave space in your checked luggage and padding for glass bottles.
  • Recheck airport bus service and store hours that day.
  • Keep food packaging and receipts, and check the import requirements.

According to Globus’s official information, the Zličín and Čakovice hypermarkets are listed as open daily from 07:00 to 21:00. Hours, stock, and airport bus service can change, so check the official pages and PID again before you leave.
