Sapporo shopping: routes for PORTER, DANTON, and American casualwear

• Stellar Place is a shopping complex connected to JR Sapporo Station. Bshop is on CENTER 3F, FREAK’S STORE + ANDY on CENTER 2F, and BEAMS on EAST B1F. Official listings give 10:00~20:00 for all three. At the entrance, check both the CENTER or EAST section and the floor, not just the building name. For sneakers, you can add atmos on CENTER 3F; for household goods and clothing, add MUJI on EAST 6F. MUJI does not accept stock checks or hold requests by phone. Check the store stock display on its official product page or ask in person.
• Bshop Sapporo is confirmed as a participating store in the spring 2026 DANTON fair. This does not mean every color and size of the down jacket, jacket, or bag you want is currently available. FREAK’S STORE and BEAMS are also listed among DANTON’s official stockist chains, but selections vary by branch. Do not assume all three carry the same stock.
• Official introductions from BEAMS Stellar Place and BEAMS Sapporo have featured L.L.Bean exclusives: items specially commissioned by BEAMS. Do not assume products in older posts are still available. To compare a broad range of American casual styles, visit CONEY ISLAND and BEAMS Sapporo; substitute WAREHOUSE if reproduction denim is your main interest.
• MaW and GARAGE69 suit a separate set of tastes. MaW’s official brand list includes COMOLI, A.PRESSE, and Graphpaper. GARAGE69’s spring/summer 2026 information includes COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS and MARNI. Selections change each season. Rather than adding both to an afternoon spent finding a DANTON item, set aside separate time to compare fabrics and silhouettes.
• For more familiar multi-brand shops, Sapporo PARCO in Odori has UNITED ARROWS on 1F and 2F, JOURNAL STANDARD on 2F, and SHIPS on B1F. The address is Minami 1-jo Nishi 3-chome; the exact street number for JOURNAL STANDARD and SHIPS is Minami 1-jo Nishi 3-3. SHIPS at Stellar Place is a women’s store on EAST 2F. In the same complex, distinguish green label relaxing on EAST B1F, BEAUTY&YOUTH on EAST 2F, and URBAN RESEARCH DOORS on EAST 3F.
• For an extra option around Tanukikoji, B’2nd Sapporo is at Minami 2-jo Nishi 3-1, Sanbangai Building, open 11:00–20:00. If denim is your goal, SAPPORO-BASE is another candidate: Minami 2-jo Nishi 8-chome 8-1, Matsumoto Building 1F, normally 12:00–20:00. It lists authorized stock of RESOLUTE, LVC, TCB Jeans, and other brands. Replace one shop in the basic routes below with your choice.
• For PORTER, make POTR SAPPORO on PARCO 1F your first store to check. Ask whether the backpack you want is available and how tax-free purchases work. If you also want clothing, continue to BEAMS SAPPORO at Minami 1-jo Nishi 3-8-11. This store has womenswear on 1F and menswear on 2F, opens 11:00~20:00, and lists BEAMS BOY, BEAMS PLUS, bPr BEAMS, clothing, accessories, and lifestyle goods. Its official name is BEAMS SAPPORO; Odori describes its location.
• The official BEAMS SAPPORO listing marks the store as offering tax-free shopping. However, claims that it has more merchandise than the Stellar Place store, or always has discounted past-season items at the back, have not been verified. Ask about stock for your target item and payment conditions rather than visiting specifically for a sale section.
• For a separate streetwear outing, consider HUMAN MADE SAPPORO and Stüssy around Tanukikoji. HUMAN MADE is at Minami 3-jo Nishi 3-16-2, THE KNOT SAPPORO 1F, and opens 11:00~19:00. Stüssy's current official address is Minami 2-jo Nishi 3-1-7, with hours of 11:00~19:00. Its Stellar Place 5F location appears in older sources, so it is not included in the current station shopping route. Reviews about HUMAN MADE's store size, consistently limited selection, or tax-free shopping should not be treated as confirmed current facts.
• BAPE STORE SAPPORO is at Odori Nishi 1-14-2 桂和大通ビル50 1F, and opens 11:00~20:00. KAPITAL is at Minami 2-jo Nishi 1-7-2 壱丁目ビル, opens 11:00~20:00, and closes on Tuesdays. Confirm stock for your desired items and tax-free availability separately at both stores. Use each store's map address below rather than relying on a broad description such as ‘near Susukino.’
• For more streetwear multibrand stores, FIGURE SAPPORO is at Minami 3-jo Nishi 5-1-1 NORBESA 1F. Its temporary PARCO B1 operation in June 2026 has ended. The company directory lists 11:00~20:00, while the Sapporo introduction lists a 21:00 closing time, so check that day's hours. Its official physical-store information indicates tax-free service.
• MEGA Don Quijote Sapporo Tanukikoji Main Store is at Minami 3-jo Nishi 4-12-1, opens 24 hours, and officially offers tax-free shopping. Consider it for a final combined purchase of cosmetics, household goods, snacks, alcohol, and souvenirs. The annex at Minami 2-jo Nishi 3-20 has different hours: 10:00~02:00 the following day. The main store's 24-hour opening does not mean its tax-free counter or medicine sales also operate 24 hours.
• If you combine station shopping with dinner, you can add Stellar Place's 6F restaurant floor and the JR Tower T38 Observation Deck. Check in on JR Tower EAST 6F, then take the dedicated elevator to 38F. Standard observation deck hours are 10:00~22:00, with last admission at 21:30; restaurant closing times vary. Choose one viewpoint rather than fitting both T38 and Mount Moiwa's night view into the same evening.
• Check your travel dates when planning tax-free shopping. Japan's National Tax Agency states that purchases made from November 1, 2026 will move to a refund system. You pay the tax-inclusive price, obtain customs confirmation that you are taking the goods out of Japan when departing within 90 days of purchase, then receive a refund equivalent to the consumption tax. Do not apply reviews of immediate in-store tax exemption through October to trips from November onward. Before paying, ask the store about your passport, eligibility, qualifying items, refund method, and fees.
• Besides POTR, PARCO 1F has BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE, BLACK and MULTIPLE COMME des GARÇONS, and COMME des GARÇONS HOMME/JUNYA WATANABE MAN. You can look for PLAY, SHIRT, WALLET, and other lines at MULTIPLE, but check stock for each item separately. Onitsuka Tiger is also on 1F, but you cannot enter it directly from inside PARCO. Use its exterior entrance on Ekimae-dori.
• Daimaru Sapporo is an option for adding department-store shopping and food purchases near the station. Luxury boutiques are on 1F and 2F, Comme des Garçons lines on 5F, and the B1 Hoppe Town food floor has sweet souvenirs such as ROYCE’, Rokkatei, and Kinotoya. The current official brand directory and 6F floor map did not confirm review claims about PORTER on 6F, a leather-focused selection, or limited nylon backpacks. This does not establish that it has closed, but we do not list it as a confirmed destination for buying PORTER.
• Daimaru's official information says foreign visitors can obtain a 5% discount card by showing their passport at the 1F information counter. It is offered to foreign nationals who entered Japan less than six months ago. The official English page also requires purchases of at least ¥3,000 including tax on one receipt. Food, specially priced items, and some stores and brands are excluded. Whether it applies to PORTER is unconfirmed; first ask whether the brand is currently stocked. Do not simply add 5% to the tax saving. Check eligibility for each item, the tax-free counter, and fees.
• For new outdoor clothing and camping gear, choose Snow Peak on 1F of Sapporo Factory's 2-jo Building. Its standard hours are 10:00~20:00, and its official listing indicates tax-free shopping. The Arc'teryx Factory store closed on April 13, 2025. For Arc'teryx, go to the Sapporo brand store on 4PLA 1F and 2F in Odori. The address is Minami 1-jo Nishi 4-1-1, and its opening announcement gives standard hours of 11:00~20:00. Factory and 4PLA are separate buildings.
• Factory is a complex on the site of the former Kaitakushi brewery, with its red brick buildings and chimney preserved. After shopping, you can choose the free brewery exhibition facility in the Renga Building and BREWERY 1876 on 1F. Drinks cost extra, and this is a different facility from the Sapporo Beer Museum and Beer Garden. The pub's standard hours are 11:00~20:00 through October 31, 2026, shortening to 11:00~18:00 from November through March. Check that day's closing time if visiting late in the afternoon.
• If your trip includes PORTER and new casualwear, visit POTR first, then choose Stellar Place for clothing and either Factory or Arc'teryx at 4PLA for outdoor gear, according to your target brand. Daimaru is an option for food and department-store goods, and Don Quijote for snacks and household goods at the end. There is no need to visit all five in sequence before confirming stock for your bag.
