Sham Shui Po Station → Tim Ho Wan at 9–11 Fuk Wing Street → join the on-site waitlist and order a few dishes → Apliu Street or return to the station
How to fit it in
Save the official address, 9–11 Fuk Wing Street, as your destination; the restaurant is on the ground and mezzanine floors of Ka Wui Building. Arrive before the lunch rush, check how to join the on-site waitlist, and, if there are two of you, start with 2–3 dishes such as char siu bao and shrimp dumplings.
Reality check
The Sham Shui Po branch is on the ground and mezzanine levels of Ka Wui Building, 9–11 Fuk Wing Street. Save this address as your destination from Sham Shui Po MTR station, then walk there. Add it to a daytime route with a market or Apliu Street afterward. Phone: +852 2788 1226.
Allow 45–60 minutes to eat after ordering, plus at least 30 minutes for a weekend wait.
To start, order 2–3 plates to share from items such as baked BBQ pork buns, har gow, and siu mai. Check how many pieces come on each plate. Add more after totaling the prices on the order sheet, plus tea and service charges. Don’t assume the per-person budget from older reviews reflects current menu prices.
With children, take care around hot steamers and narrow aisles.
If plans change
After getting a number, stay nearby. If the wait is too long, switch to another dim sum restaurant in the same area.
Small tip
Groups can order a wider range of dishes. If you’re dining alone, it’s better to order a few signature items. Check the branch’s instructions that day for reservations or joining the waitlist, as well as opening hours. If the queue reaches into the street, keep the walkway clear. Stay close enough to hear when your number is called.
Final check before departure
- Reconfirm the exact address and whether the Sham Shui Po branch is open that day, and save the walking route through the lanes from the station exit. Don’t rely only on a similar business name or information about a former location.
- Start with 2–3 plates featuring different cooking styles, such as baked BBQ pork buns, har gow, and siu mai. Check the number of pieces per plate, then order more if needed to avoid leftovers when dining alone or as a pair.
- Seating is often shared and tables turn over quickly, so don’t plan on a long break. If you have allergies or need to avoid pork or shrimp, confirm with staff using a Cantonese translation on your phone before submitting the order sheet.
According to the official branch information, hours are Monday–Friday 10:00–22:00 and Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays 09:00–22:00. Check with the branch on the day of your visit for temporary changes and last orders.
