At a glance
- Split the riverbanks: visit Prague Castle and Malá Strana on day one, then Old Town and Josefov on day two.
- On day three, wrap up with either Vyšehrad or the National Museum, depending on your interests.
- One paid indoor attraction per day is enough; spend the rest of your time exploring the surrounding streets.
- If the Old Royal Palace is closed, plan your visit to the castle interiors around the buildings that are open.

Google Maps 상세 글How to fit it in
For your first three days, skip day trips and spend one day each in the castle district west of the river, Old Town east of the river, and Vyšehrad in the southern part of the city.
Reality check
In the city center, walking and trams are the main ways to get around. Tickets are time based, so check how long they are valid rather than how many transfers they allow. Validate a paper ticket once, just after boarding for the first time or before entering the metro paid area. Activate a PID Lítačka app ticket before boarding and wait at least 60 seconds for it to become valid.
Allow half a day for the castle complex, at least half a day for Old Town, and 2–3 hours for Vyšehrad.
Tickets for the castle complex and Jewish Quarter cover different combinations of sites, so choose which interiors you want to see first.
When it’s crowded near Charles Bridge or the Astronomical Clock, keep valuables in front of you and avoid people offering currency exchange.
If plans change
Connect the flat areas of Malá Strana and Kampa with Old Town, and visit the castle interiors on another day.
Make one museum your base each day, and visit Charles Bridge and the squares only during a 30-minute lull in the rain.
Small tip
Don’t add a day trip before day four. Leaving a park or museum open in your plans makes it easier to adjust for weather and energy levels.
Final check before departure
- Day one: Prague Castle and Malá Strana. Check which castle interiors are open and their last admission the day before. Take a tram up the hill, then walk down toward Charles Bridge.
- Day two: visit Josefov before Old Town. Avoid Saturdays and Jewish holidays. On a day when the sites are open, see the synagogues and cemetery, then continue to Old Town Square, Powder Tower, and Wenceslas Square.
- Day three: focus on either Vyšehrad or a museum. Check the weather and your departure time, then choose the outdoor fortifications or the National Museum. Don’t rush to fit in both.
- Plan for cobblestones and getting back at night. Save the tram and metro stations you can use if you stay late around Charles Bridge or Old Town, and leave large bags at your accommodation.
Opening days for the castle, synagogues, and museums, along with transit construction, can change the order of your three days. Schedule paid sites with early closing times first each day.
