At a glance
- Visit Letná Park first, during daylight, if the view across the river is your main goal.
- In Holešovice, narrow your route to one exhibition space and one café or market.
- Take the tram between the two neighborhoods, and don’t schedule too many indoor visits after your park walk.
- If it rains, start indoors in Holešovice and add the view from Letná only if the weather clears.

Google MapsHow to fit it in
After a day in the Old Town, start in Letná for open views and continue to Holešovice for a change of pace. It’s a great way to see Prague’s range.
Reality check
Take a tram up from the north of the Old Town, then combine walking and trams between Letná and Holešovice.
Set aside half a day for 1–2 hours in the park and 2–3 hours at an exhibition.
The park is free. Check ticket details for each museum and gallery exhibition.
Don’t suddenly change direction where bike and skate traffic overlaps with pedestrian paths.
If plans change
Limit the view from Letná Park to 15 minutes and spend more time at one current exhibition at the National Gallery’s Trade Fair Palace or DOX.
Don’t force yourself to buy a ticket. See everyday life in the neighborhood with a market, café, or walk along the edge of Stromovka.
Small tip
Don’t turn back after seeing just one viewpoint. Link it to a tram stop and one exhibition to make a half-day outing.
Final check before departure
- Use the weather to decide whether to see Letná first or go indoors first: start at Letná Park on a clear day. If it rains, visit whichever is open, the Trade Fair Palace or National Technical Museum.
- Choose just one indoor visit: pick the Trade Fair Palace for contemporary art, or the National Technical Museum for transport and industrial exhibits or a family visit. Check opening hours and current exhibitions on the official website.
- Take the tram between Letná and Holešovice. If construction has caused a detour, recalculate your route with PID and don’t walk the full distance from the park to the exhibition space.
- Finish the park section before sunset: even if you’re staying for the night views, head toward a main-road stop and keep clear of bike and scooter lanes.
Check whether one exhibition is open on the day you visit, and treat outdoor events as a bonus.
